Transaction Capital regards its primary objective as the enhancement of the competitive position of its subsidiaries, which provide credit, credit services, payment services to nichéd segments of Southern african consumer markets, small micro and medium enterprises (SMMEs), and to the retailers, banks and other institutions who supply these segments with goods and services.

This role extends beyond the conventional operational and portfolio responsibilities of a holding company, to the active creation of stakeholder value through entrepreneurship, restructuring, transferring of skills and expertise, and the sharing of resources.
